The Accountant contributes to the overall success of Jerry House Corporation by effectively managing all financial tasks for the organization. The accountant will have contact with senior management and will report to the senior management. We offer a competitive salary to the right candidate. General Responsibilities
The Accountant performs a wide range of duties including:
• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization
• Working with Controller, ensure timely and accurate financial statements and reports are in accordance with generally acceptable accounting principles
(GAAP).
• Manage compliance with the internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and ensure that all government reporting requirements are met including GST/HST, PST, QST, and Corporate Tax.
• Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
• Bookkeep accounts payable and prepare weekly payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow-up on overdue amounts.
• Maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash.
• Reconcile banks and credit cards.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of projects
• Work with Purchasing Manager to maintain inventory records and produce inventory reports.
• Work with Billing Services Manager and team to invoice data monitoring services and assist with billing and collections reconciliations.
• Maintain ledgers and prepare monthly reconciliations of prepaid expenses, deposits and deferred revenue accruals.
• Provide training and assistance to staff regarding their role as it relates to finance.
• Collaborate with all staff to support the corporate goals and objectives.
• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization.
• Assist with monitoring profitability and minimizing risk.
• Assist the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Preference given to candidates wth CPA designation
• Accounting or ERP software experience required
• Excellent computer and MS Office skills. Strong Excel skills required
• CRM experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Ability to manage high work volume and shifting priorities
• Experience writing policies and procedures
